102 Fitchville Rd - Bozrah

March 20,2007 - At around 16:20hrs Bozrah with mutual aid from Franklin, Yantic, and Mohegan Tribal FAST responded to a structure fire on Fitchville Rd. Yantic Eng-31 first arrived to find a 1 stry wd dwelling with fire showing. There was a report of a occupant trapped, but primary search was negative. a couple animals were found. The fire in under investigation.

Norwich Kitchen Fire

March 18, 2007 - At 18:45hrs Norwich Platoon 1 was dispatched to a house fire at 32 Western Ave. Numerous calls reported flames coming out the front door. Upon arrival crews found a fire in the rear kitchen that self-vented out the back door. Norwich crews did an excellant job of stopping the fire from spreading into the 2nd floor. (Sorry no action shots, sometimes it's a little hard to do my job and take photos)

Montville House Fire

March 18, 2007 - At 17:15hrs Montville fire was dispatched to a house fire at 33 Depot Rd. Crews found a fire in the basement, a quick knock down contained the fire to the basement. while conducting primary search of the residence, firefighters found 40 cats through out the house. Some animals were rescued but most succumb to smoke inhalation. Thanks to Ed for taking the photos while I performed my FAST duties.

Elm St - Baltic

March 15,2007 - Baltic was dispatched to a structure fire at Elm and Main St. ET-124 w/ Car-124 arrived to find smoke emitting from a 1.5 stry wd dwelling. Crews from Baltic ,Occum and Franklin worked this fire for 30 minutes to contain the fire that was found in the basement and first flr. The Mohegan Tribal FAST and American Ambulance responded. The Baltic FMO is investigating

Westerly Garage Fire

March 13, 2007 - At 07:30hrs, Westerly fire was dispatched to a structure fire on Summer St. Units arrived to find a fire in a detached 2bay garage. Westerly firefighters used Class A foam to extinguish the fire. The Westerly FMO is investigating. Photos by WAC Medic Carl Sposato

Dayville Garage Fire

March 12, 2007 - At 10:56hrs dayville, Williamsville and east Killingly with the Pomfret FAST were dispatched to a structure fire on Rt-101 at Owen Bell Park. Dayville units arrived to find a maintaince garage well involved in fire. Crews went to defensive operations as the garage was a total loss. 1 firefighter was injuried. Norwich Kitchen Fire

March 10, 2007 - Just after noon Norwich Platoon 1 was dispatched to a kitchen fire at 23 Whitaker Ave. Crews arrived to find a working fire in a 1.5 stry wd dwelling. Eng-3 stretched a 1 3/4 line on the fire. A report of a child trapped on the #2 flr was transmitted sending a search team to the #2 flr. Primary search was negative and the child was found safely at a neighbors house. This street is a small narrrow road off Laurel Hill Ave. Norwich Truck 1 was unable to make this road so the Truck 1 crew, FAST Team and EMS had to hike up this long narrow road. 1 Norwich firefighter was injuried, we wish him good luck and a speedy recovery.

Norwich Garage Fire - 106 Peck St

March 6, 2007 - At 15:50hrs Norwich Platoon 2 was dispatched to a garage fire at 106 Peck St, Norwich fire advised of receiving numerous calls. Norwich Car 1 arrived to report smoke coming from a 1.5 stry detached garage. Eng-3 crew stretched a 1 3/4 hoseline and quickly knocked down the fire that involved the rear of the garage. The Mohegan Tribal FAST was dismissed from the assignment and units went in service in about 20 minutes. The fire was not an issue but the weather was, at time of call the temp was 12 degrees with wind chill value below zero.
