September 16, 2007 - At 14:56hrs the Jewett City, Griswold, and 1 ET from Lisbon responded to 27 Ann St for a fire in a bedroom. Units arrived to find light smoke showing and a small fire in in a laundry basket in a rear bedroom. The fire was extinguished with a water can, the basket overhauled and the structure vented. Units went into service in about 30 minutes.

2007 State Firefighter Convention
September 15, 2007 - The 2007 State Firefighters Convention was held at the University of New Haven. The convention started at 11:00am with a couple of introductions, Legistlative awards, Elections of the 2007-2008 Officer, and the firefighter awards. The following awards were given out.
Citation for Meritous Service -
Willimantic & Windam FD - Rescue of a civilian & downed firefighter at a house fire
Taftville FD - Rescue of a civilian from an apartment fire in an elderly housing facility
Rocky Hill FD- Evacuation of civilians from a fire in a private dwelling
Long Hill FD - Rescue of a civilian from a house fire
Washington FD- Unit Citation for the rescue of 2 hikers who fell 300ft from a cliff

WaterWitch Hose Co and Northville FD - Rescue of a firefighter trapped in a flashover

Brooklyn (Mortlake) House Fire
September 3, 2007 - At around 01:50hrs, QV starting receiving numerous 911 calls from Breen Rd in Brooklyn reporting a house fire. Mortlake, Atwood Hose, East Brooklyn fire departments with FAST teams from Central Village and Moosup responded. Units arrived to find a 1 stry ranch well involved in fire. All occupants were accounted for and safe outside the structure. Additional tankers were added to the assignment. The Brooklyn FMO is investigating.
