3rd Alarm in East Great Plains

At 03:34hrs this am East Great Plains FD was dispatched to 598 West Main St for a reported fully involved building fire. Car-5 arrived and had fire self venting out the D side of a commercial strip mall. 1st due crews made a good quick knockdown but due to clutter conditions, the fire had time to run the walls and roof line causing it to consume the attic areas of the building. A 3rd alarm assignment brought fire companies from Norwich, Yantic, Taftville, Laurel Hill, and the Mohegan Tribal FAST to the scene. it took 2 hours to bring the fire under control. The cause is under investigation by Norwich FMO.

Baltic House Fire July 24, 2016

July 24, 2016 - This morning around 06:15hrs the Baltic FD with their mutual aid was dispatched to a house fire on Whitehall Dr. Upon arrival, the house was truly Fully Involved. Ammunition was firing off,the occupants stated everyone was out and there was propane tanks in the fire. There are no fire hydrants and drafting ops had to conducted at the Mohegan Sun country club. The fire had too far of a head start, the FD had a great reponse time but with a head start and lack of water. The house was a total loss

Stonington House Fire 973 Pequot Trail 03/17/16

At around 07:30hrs on 03/17/16, Old Mystic with aid from North Stonington, Wequetequock, Navy Sub-base and tankers from a strike team responded to 973 Pequot Trail for a building fire. Stonington PD arrived to find a dwelling 25% involved with 1 victim in cardiac arrest. Crews arrived, started fire suppression and CPR on the victim. As of this time the victim had ROSC and was breathing on their own. a number of civilians and family members were treated or transported from the scene. The cause is under investigation.
