25 Klondike St - Private Dwelling Fire

January 1st 2007 at 4:11 A.M Community fire company with mutual aid from Thompson Hill and West Thompson and a FAST response from Quinebaug and East Thompson were dispatched to a structure fire at 25 Klondike street. Upon arrival of Engine 181, firefighters found a 2 story / 2 family with fire self venting from the roof of the 1 story entrance on the D side and pushing toward the eves. Crews made an aggressive attack but the fire had already gotten up into the attic space on the 2 story section. The fire was confined to the attic space, part of the second floor and the 1 story entrance. Additional mutual aid requested to the scene was an engine from Putnam,tanker from East Putnam and an engine from Dudley. Muddy Brook covered the town during the event.
