January 22, 2007 - At 21:31hrs the Yantic and Taftville fire departments were dispatched to an auto accident with fire at Harland Rd and Washington St. This is on the district line for both departments. Upon arrival, a car had come off RT-2 and sheared off a fire hydrant and rolled over and caught fire. the occupant of the vehicle self extricated.
