Griswold - 1st Alarm Garage Fire

January 27, 2007 - As I was just leaving QV from my evening shift, a 911 call came in reporting a garage fire at #1 Lisa Ave in the town of Griswold. Griswold and Jewett City were initially dispatched. The 1st Griswold officer on scene reported a working fire. an upgrade to the alarm assignment was Voluntown, Lisbon, Plainfield, and Taftville FAST. The weather was cold (5 degrees) with light wind. Griswold and Jewett City crews placed 2 1/2 inch lines and a blitz fire on the building to knocked down the flames. Crews also had to protect a home that was in close proximity. the building was a total loss. numerous vehicles were lost in the fire. The cause is undetermined and the Griswold FMO is investigating.Garage well involved with Griswold ET-355
